Pre-check the Company Name

Obtain Notarization for the Power of Attorney
(if not applicable, no submission required)
Foreigners establishing a company in Taiwan can appoint a Taiwanese agent to assist with company registration.
The power of attorney must be notarized or authenticated by a Taiwan embassy, consulate, or a Taiwan government-authorized institution abroad.

➢ Foreign Legal Entity: Original company registration (or change) form and the company seals

Get Approval from the Investment Commission
Please provide:

Application form, stating all past educational and professional experiences.

Applicant’s Identification Documents:
➢ Foreign Individual:
Certificate of Nationality, or a copy of a valid passport, or a copy of the Alien Permanent Resident Certificate.
➢ Foreign Legal Entity (including Hong Kong and Macao):
(1) A copy of the most recent certificate of legal entity status issued by the local government, or a copy of registration documents.
(2) Declaration of Foreign Investor Qualification and its attachments.
➢ Hong Kong and Macao Individuals:
A copy of the Hong Kong/Macao Permanent Resident Identity Card and a copy of the Hong Kong/Macao Resident Declaration.

➢ Power of Attorney for the accountant
➢ Accountant’s Professional Certificate issued by the Certified Public Accountant Association

Opening Preparatory Account
Required Documents:

Record of ID No. in the Republic of China:
➢ Hong Kong and Macao Individuals: Can apply on the website of National Immigration Agency after entering Taiwan.
➢ Foreigners: Must apply in person at service stations of the National Immigration Agency in each municipality or county (city).

Import and Remittance of Operating Funds for Use within the Territory of R.O.C.
-
After the preparatory account is opened, funds must be remitted in foreign currency from abroad in a single transfer to the company’s preparatory account. The converted New Taiwan Dollar amount must match the capital listed on the application form.

Please make sure to specify the remittance purpose as “310” for Overseas Chinese/Foreign Capital Investment.

If you intend to apply for a work permit or residence permit, there is a minimum capital requirement of NT$500,000.

Investigation of Investment Capital
Foreign funds are required to be submitted to the Investment Review Committee for approval of funds after remittance.
Please provide:

Copy of the remittance foreign exchange purchase receipt

Copy of other transaction vouchers issued by the receiving bank

Company Establishment
After obtaining the fund verification approval letter, you can proceed with the company establishment process, which is generally similar to the standard company registration process in Taiwan.
The difference is that you only need to provide additional documents, namely the “Investment Approval Letter” and the “Fund Verification Approval Letter” from the Investment Review Committee.

Apply for a Tax ID and Convert the Preparatory Bank Account to Formal Bank Account
After obtaining the approval letter for business registration from the National Taxation Bureau, you can report to the bureau to collect the invoice certificate, and the company can officially commence operations.

Correspondence from the National Taxation Burea
Once you complete the business registration at the National Taxation Bureau, you can convert the preparatory account into an official company account at the bank

Application for Company's
Exporter/Importer Registration
The registration for import and export must be applied through the online system of the Bureau of Foreign Trade, the “Import and Export Trader Registration System.”
After logging in, you need to fill out basic information and conduct a preliminary check of the English name. The review will be completed within two hours. There is no fee for the application, and relevant certificates can be downloaded as needed.

Application for Work Permit/Residence Permit
Once the company is established and meets the relevant qualifications, it can apply for a work permit for foreign managers or corporate executives.
After obtaining the work permit, a residence permit with the same validity period can then be applied for.
